SMART SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES:
HANDS ON THE WHEEL, EYES ON THE ROAD
The New Generation XD design embraces DAF’s ‘hands on the wheel, eyes on the road’ philosophy. Driver’s primary functions are controlled from the steering wheel or column stalks. For example, the TraXon gearbox controls, digital display, audio system and phone, everything is at the driver’s fingertips.
Secondary functions are operated via conveniently placed dashboard switches.
SMART SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES:
The XD’s many active safety features include, warning on screen in blind corner, Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Brake Lights and DAF Turn Assist.
Plus new additions like DAF Electronic Park Brake for smart control, a Low-Speed Trailer Brake for safe coupling and uncoupling.
Chassis
The DAF XD’s well-thought-out chassis is made from high-quality steel so it’s both light and strong.
The Stabilink rear axle suspension ensures optimal roll stability, the highest payloads and superb handling.
The highly flexible chassis layout allows a wide range of body variations, making the DAF XD extremely friendly to bodybuilders.
Driveline
The DAF XD driveline helps to lower operating costs with a highly fuel-efficient MX-11 PACCAR engine, available in 340hp and 450hp to suit your operational needs. It also features enhanced electronics, an optimised ZF TraXon or Allison automatic gearbox and PACCAR high-efficiency rear axles.
Plus, it delivers higher torque at lower revs resulting in improved fuel efficiency over a wide range of applications.
